Marketing Manager, Balkans
(Belgrade, Novi Sad)

Reports to: Head of Marketing, Central Europe


  • Following development of business in Balkans
  • Geographical scope of this role includes Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Albania with main current focus on Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia and Macedonia
  • Drive local marketing and PR activities targeting customers (affiliates & advertising sales) and consumers in order to achieve agreed business goals in 6 countries
  • Create and grow channels awareness within Balkan territories to drive up sell of channels within the region
  • Build direct contact with local operators to maintain existing business where contracts are due for renewal, retain business in the long term
  • Up sell additional channels to existing operators to increase revenue streams
  • Support newly launched advertising sales function in Serbia and Slovenia
  • Work with local affiliate sales agents

Job Description:

  • Develop, manage and deliver the annual marketing and PR strategy & plans for the territory: consumer, affiliate, ad sales, PR, digital
  • Develop and manage the annual budgets for the territory
  • Promote the channels, programming content and company both B2C and B2B throughout the territories
  • Work closely with Head of Marketing CE, local affiliate sales agents, local ad sales agents, local press and PR contacts and central supporting teams
  • Implement and manage local partners/agencies relationships and rosters
  • Build ongoing relationships with local large, medium, small affiliates and create, manage, deliver joint marketing plans promoting the channels
  • Support affiliate and ad sales team with marketing materials to promote the channels, as well as support sales team in new channel pitches preparation
  • Plan, manage and deliver relationship/sales building initiatives and events providing marketing support to affiliate and ad sales teams
  • Develop and manage regular PR activity across territories as well as identify wider PR opportunities to grow consumer & trade awareness of the channels
  • Communicate and leverage all new market developments related to the channels
  • Develop and maintain local social networks and websites
  • Analyse and report results/efficiency of all marketing and PR activities developing ROI approach
  • Acquire, analyse and regularly distribute market and competitive information to the key stakeholder
  • Manage all marketing administration including contracts and invoicing for the region
  • Explore opportunities for barter deals

Skills and experience:

  • 5-10 years experience, with specialized local knowledge of trade marketing preferably within international media across Balkan countries
  • Strong marketing communications experience including consumer and trade marketing: creative development, direct mail, digital marketing, events, PR and press, merchandising
  • Established relationship with media, TV media and key operators in Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia and other Balkan countries
  • Experience of managing agency relationships
  • Organised, proactive and strategic
  • Good communicator with strong interpersonal and business skills
  • Must be able to build relations quickly and deliver within a matrix environment
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated; ability to operate in a dynamic and charged environment
  • Strong written and presentation skills, analytical, attention to details
  • Fluent English language, knowledge of Slovenian language
